Decent enough. I did lots of research after chipping my 4th Chantal classic, and decided an enamel teakettle should not be so expensive or poorly designed. The Farberware has an attractive enamel coating of adequate quality. The whistle is solid and sounds good, not too loud, one note. The handle is just the slightest bit flimsy, requiring a tightening of the screws every now and then, and the metal itself flexes a bit. The handle pad is comfortable, and no extra mit is needed when hot. The lid is snug, but after Chantal I wonder what the point is of a two-piece lid. I chose this kettle mostly for the paint and the materials, but I will say Im not a fan of the kettle shape. The more-pyramidical design means you have to tip further over to pour it out.
