Read review from cook illustrated so I bought it. It is good. Used several times to make good beef stew.

I bought this pressure cooker after taking an EdX course in molecular cooking. The benefits of faster cooking, moisture retention and ability to brown without drying things out all combine for exceptionally flavorful food. The pot itself is very heavy gauge with a well designed lid and seal system. The built in safety prevents opening the pot when under pressure. It has two pressure settings basically at one half and one full atmosphere (around 7.5 and 15 psi, respectively). At the higher pressure, water boils at about 250 degrees F. The size (8 quarts) is large but necessary if you are making soups or stocks. I think the size is ideal for a very broad range of cooking needs.

Will be using this appliance in the mountains at 9000 feet. Easy to clean and the handle has a good gripping area.

I'm very happy with the cooker, but am still struggling to find the way to have the cooker reach pressure with some of the recipies. Would recommend the product though - it's well made and easy to use (I just need to better master the technique, as I'm new to presssure cooking).

So easy to use. Everything comes out tasting great, unbelievable that such rich and deep flavors can be achieved in so little time. My only regret is not getting one of these sooner!
