Stamina Deluxe Conversion II Recumbent Bike/Rower

Generally, I use this product in a modified manner. First, as a recumbent bike, it works pretty well, and the eight (8) levels of resistance can give your legs a pretty good workout. The front section, though, could be about a 1/2-inch narrower, because sometimes I feel my Knees rub against the console. Second, as a Rower, if I set the seat to glide, I found these two primary problems: I found my knees started to hurt, because the Wayfair don't allow for any foot movement left or right (due to the ridge that runs around the heel section of the foot rest), and this caused sort of a bow-legged effect when I was gliding up and down on the glide path. Additionally, when pulling on the rowing handle, which is set at the top of the front flywheel section, the very front end would pop off the ground and the stabilizing bar under the glide path would move around a lot. This made the experience a bit uncomfortable. BUT ... I modified how I use this product. I set the seat to the fully extended position for the recumbent bike (allowing about a 1-2" bend in my knees) and locked it into place, which also allows me to place my feet on the front stabilizer legs when I want to use the Rower capability. This doesn't allow for a full extension of the back during the pull on the row (maybe 70%), but now, I can alternate between the recumbent bike and the rower during an exercise routine. The front end is very stable, and I get a great workout for both the lower and upper body. The rower particularly works out the arms. To actually use the machine for the upper-body exercises like they market the product, I have to stand at the front of the machine and face toward the seat (basically, the opposite side of the machine as they picture), and keep my feet on the stabilizing legs. Otherwise, if I do it from the side shown in the pictures, the front end, once again, pops off the ground. Quite frankly, I don't use the machine for this purpose. One additional benefit, though ... is when the glider/seat is in the upright position, it functions as a great support for many stretching exercises. I even use this for that purpose, alone, when I am using my other exercise equipment. If my fitness level and workout expectations were of an advanced or elite level ... this machine may not be for you. If you're like me, and are not concerned with extreme fitness ... then as a multi-functional piece of equipment, I think it is decent. All-in-all, with the modification I've made and described above to the way I use it, I am pleased with the machine."..."  Read more

I bought this bike for exercise. Due to a hip injury, I'm unable to engage in most exercise activities. I've had the bike for a few weeks and have used it for 30 minutes rides between 7-9 miles per hour. So far, I am very pleased. Putting it together was time consuming (4 hours) but the directions were clear and all parts labeled. I am NOT mechanically inclined so I'm sure others would not have spent so much time on that. The bike is very quiet and comfortable for the most part. The seat is not highly comfortable but what bike seat is? My back is not the best so I was initially concerned about an upright but I've had no problems at all. I am 5'8" and 200 pounds and the bike feels quite solid and sturdy. My shoes can hit the gear shaft if I turn the heels inward too much so people with large feet (I wear a women's size 9 to 9.5) might occasionally hit it as well. I am pleased with this bike and would definitely buy it again."..."  Read more

I ride 85-100 miles/week, and I got this bike because it's finally too dark for me to ride outside. So, I use this bike during the week, and ride outdoors on the weekends. This bike is great for helping me to maintain endurance, and for getting a great cardio workout if that's what you're looking for. It's easy to use, easy to adjust, and easy to move around. The electronics are simple, and I find that it's just enough...not too many complicated bells & whistles, but enough customization for an average user.My two complaints would be the seat, and the calorie counter. I'm short (5' 3"), and the lack of adjustments on the seatback height mean that I'll have a backache after about an hour. So, I use a pillow to sit/lean against in the seat. Regarding the calorie counter, I don't find it to be accurate at all. The average person will burn approx 500 cal/hour on an exercise bike. After an hour on this one, my calorie counter reads around 700, which is closer to what I'd burn in an hour of running. Not sure if the bike is compensating for the higher tension of my ride or what, but I don't rely on the bike's counter to determine my calories burned.Other than those two minor issues, I totally love this bike. It's perfect for my use, and I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. I was prepared to pay around [$] for a good recumbent, but got this one for around half that. Two thumbs up!"..."  Read more

[...] It took my husband about 1.5 hours for setup but I did not hear a complain from him :) As a busy working mom who has to sit in the office more than 8 hours a day and has no extra energy to go out and exercise after finishing all the house chores, I found this recumbent bike serves me well. I can ride on it when all are watching TV in the same room or at late night when everyone is on bed. It's so quiet that it won't effect others no matter what they do. I can read and bike in the same time without knowing that 40 or 50 minutes are passed. The computerized programs display on the huge and clean screen is easy to read and to set up. I try to use this bike at least 5 times a week with the hope to loose some weight and back to size 6 again. My 16-year-old daughter and my husband are avid athlete, they use this bike from time to time just for fun, but they enjoy it too."..."  Read more
