More yogurt, less hassle Our house was going through more yogurt than I had time in the week to make extra batches. The extra tier, along with an extra set of glasses, has fixed that problem and we enjoy delicious yogurt every day. We have noticed differences in the yogurt consistency between the top tier and bottom tier, which I believe is linked to the temperature not being quite what it needs to be in the top tier. That yogurt is much softer than in the bottom tier. The solution for us (we like thicker yogurt) was simple; adding powdered milk to the boiled milk thickens it to a standard American yogurt consistency. We tried the no-boil method of yogurt production and essentially got spoiled milk; that top tier just isn't quite warm enough for that method. |

Convenient Using this "double decker" saves me time by enabling me to make 14 jars of yogurt. Note: 5 quarts of liquid will produce 7 jars--each about 3/4 c. |
