After weeks of looking for an entertainment center, we finally decided to go with the Lansford Park Berkshire expandable unit. The end factors, above-average quality and cost. We saw this in a local furniture store (oddly, under a completely different name). We didn't "fall in love" with it, but we liked it compared to other units in the store. Also, the "good" ones we saw at other locations were in the $4000 to $8000 range. The color is closer to a brown that a cherry (not a tinge of red). The "distressed" part isn't a big deal really. I would prefer it without it, but I feel it doesn't really add anything aesthetically. It came in 6 boxes. The pier bottoms and tops come 95% assembled. The entertainment stand was 90% assembled. Basically, you just have a base and you put the assembled drawers on top, put the backing on, and then put the top on. The expandable capability really is pretty ingenious. It doesn't look expandable, but more like it was designed specifically for your TV. I would say it took us 3 hours to put everything together (2 people) and that was taking our time. It comes with directions in each box. The only fault of the unit itself was that the brackets for the bridge above the tv aren't really the right size. It's a little short. Meaning, when you drill the holes to secure the bracket, it's a little too close to the edge. I think it's safe enough even without the screws, but with a flat-panel TV right below it, I wouldn't want to take a chance (I installed a different bracket.). Unit took about 4hrs for one-person assembly. About half an hour was dedicated to parts identification. You have to look at the finished unit diagram while using the step-by-step instructions. Diagram #6 actually had to be performed before Diagram step #5 because of assembly pieces awkwardness and weight. Then the unit could be placed on its side to mount screws in step#5. Wood dowel assembly in step one was not specific enough, so I wound up having a couple of the dowels in the wrong holes of one panel. This is where looking at the total assembly picture along with the step-by-step diagrams, and other hardware pieces came into play. Also the plastic CD slot separators could go in two different ways and was not detailed in the instructions; the wrong way being where the slot won't support a CD (of course, that's the way I installed them. It looked like the correct way, until you slid a cd into the slot and it fell through to the back. Fortunately, you can gently pry them out and reverse the plastic separators without unit disassembly. Overall, the unit is very solid, attractive, and, once built, should suit most people's AV needs."..."  Read more

We are very happy with this entertainment center. I set out looking for something similar to the Tango entertainment center by Ethan Allen which was not in our budget. This one has the look I wanted and was in our budget. Our 55 TV fits perfectly. It is a very nice unit for this price point. It is a very well made, sturdy piece. The very top is not finished but I dont know if they usually are. The finish is a little glossier than I would have hoped but that is just because I like a real rustic look. It is packaged very well and the hardest part of putting it together is unpacking it. It took my husband about two hours to put it together. There are leveling screws on the bottom of the feet that need a little adjusting to get the 3 pieces all at the same level. We had a few issues with the finish in just a few places. I called Wayfair and they addressed the issue to my complete satisfaction. The customer service was excellent. I will definitely feel confident purchasing from Wayfair again."..."  Read more

The entertainment unit is easy to put togehther. I did notice that the four door panels at the bottom of the unit were not edged nicely like the sliding doors and the panel doors of the other entertainment unit I bought also made by Sonax. Strange.
