Entertainment Centers

Unit took about 4hrs for one-person assembly. About half an hour was dedicated to parts identification. You have to look at the finished unit diagram while using the step-by-step instructions. Diagram #6 actually had to be performed before Diagram step #5 because of assembly pieces awkwardness and weight. Then the unit could be placed on its side to mount screws in step#5. Wood dowel assembly in step one was not specific enough, so I wound up having a couple of the dowels in the wrong holes of one panel. This is where looking at the total assembly picture along with the step-by-step diagrams, and other hardware pieces came into play. Also the plastic CD slot separators could go in two different ways and was not detailed in the instructions; the wrong way being where the slot won't support a CD (of course, that's the way I installed them. It looked like the correct way, until you slid a cd into the slot and it fell through to the back. Fortunately, you can gently pry them out and reverse the plastic separators without unit disassembly. The entertainment center is wonderful. It looks great in our living room, the materials are solid, the directions were easy enough to follow, and it has adequate space for movies and gadgets. Unfortunately, a few parts came with misaligned pre-cut holes in them. The furniture company was friendly and helpful to get them replaced free of charge. It took nearly two weeks for the replacement parts to arrive, however. While we love our new entertainment center, we would have liked it to come ready to go the first time. Would we buy it again, yes. Would we recommend it to friends, absolutely. Maybe it was a fluke that the parts weren't perfect. It's bound to happen."..."  Read more

This is a great, affordable entertainment center. It's not solid wood but a laminate that seems to hold up well. I'm very pleased with this purchase. The unit was very time consuming to put together and took about 5 hours total. Instructions weren't very descriptive either. The product description does say this unit is for a 42" TV but we put a 55" LCD and it fits perfectly. As far as weight, the TV is well under the weight limits also."..."  Read more

This entertainment center is very nice but the assembly can take a very long time. Unfortunatley we recieved some missing/wrong pieces but thankfully my husband has the carpentry skills and tools to fix the problems w/o having to hassle with returning the item. The entertainment center does come VERY well packaged but can get very messy. My husband needed my assistance from time to time so make sure you have someone around for minor things like holding pieces in place while the other is screwing in nails...I highly recommend using a power screwdriver too!!!"..."  Read more
