Unit took about 4hrs for one-person assembly. About half an hour was dedicated to parts identification. You have to look at the finished unit diagram while using the step-by-step instructions. Diagram #6 actually had to be performed before Diagram step #5 because of assembly pieces awkwardness and weight. Then the unit could be placed on its side to mount screws in step#5. Wood dowel assembly in step one was not specific enough, so I wound up having a couple of the dowels in the wrong holes of one panel. This is where looking at the total assembly picture along with the step-by-step diagrams, and other hardware pieces came into play. Also the plastic CD slot separators could go in two different ways and was not detailed in the instructions; the wrong way being where the slot won't support a CD (of course, that's the way I installed them. It looked like the correct way, until you slid a cd into the slot and it fell through to the back. Fortunately, you can gently pry them out and reverse the plastic separators without unit disassembly. The entertainment unit is easy to put togehther. I did notice that the four door panels at the bottom of the unit were not edged nicely like the sliding doors and the panel doors of the other entertainment unit I bought also made by Sonax. Strange. The unit was just as pictured and the quality was on target. I thought the price was a real value. Putting the unit together seemed easy and the instructions were user friendly. I identified all the pieces before starting and put together in time for entertaining later the same day. The packkages (boxes) were extremely heavy when they were delivered but I had the UPS place them on the floor of the room where they were to be set up. I wanted my 42 TV to be a little higher but the unit sits low even with the legs appearing to be elevated.I am 56 and the top of the unit to sit the TV is just below my knees. We received this piece of furniture 2 weeks ago to replace a too small entertainment center. Although putting it together was quite an arduous task for my husband and me, we couldn't be happier with the finished product. It is just what I wanted, a pretty piece of furniture large enough for our big screen tv and all of the components that are necessary for our stereo, gaming systems and whatnot. Just make sure that you have at least 2 fairly patient people and a lot of space to put it together because it is time consuming. I have seen some reviews that say it takes 2 hours...not! It took us at least an hour just to sort all of the furniture pieces and the hardware; however, in the end it was well worth it. Don't hesitate to buy:)"..."  Read more
