This is a great piece of furniture if you have a small space or a small TV. It's very attractive and not difficult to put together but it did take a while. I took all the pieces out of the box but did not notice this damage until I had put the entertainment center together to that point. Arrived as expected. However, the entertainment center wasn't the high quality we wanted in our livingroom nor was it a big enough unit for our 9 foot ceilings. This would however be suitable for a cottage type setting or a kid's bedroom. We have moved it downstairs and will use it in a less formal setting. Much more than I expected especially for the $$. It looks wonderful in my traditional setting. My 60 inch TV fits so perfect, it looks like it was built for it.
