I am very happy with the Preston End table and I am planning to purchase a second one for the other side of the couch. The table looks great and feels solid. The drawer could use some sort of glide mechanism so that it opens and closes smoothly. But this is not such a big deal considering how good the table looks. One thing to consider is that the picture of the Preston end table on the website appears lighter than actual. The acutal table is more of a darker cherry, but it looks nice none the less. But if your buying it because you loved the color of the table on the website, just remember the acutal table is darker."..."  Read more

The table I receive is darker than the picture on the web site. I would say that it is dark cherry. The construction is solid and mostly made of veneer (top, shelf, drawer and sides) but there are many small imperfections. I think that these small imperfections should be expected at this price (a few years ago I bought a very good dining table at a local store and there were many small imperfections). When I received it the shelf was broken (due to poor packaging from the seller) and one leg had a more important imperfection. So I took some pictures and sent them to Wayfair. The next day I received an email from Wayfair indicating that a replacement for the shelf and a leg had been ordered. No need to return the broken parts, no question. When we buy on internet we normally get a better price and a better choice. The question is always “What will happen if something is broken or doesn’t perform correctly”. To Wayfair I would give a 6 stars. For the table I would give a 4 star because of poor packaging and the imperfections. But at this price I do not expect perfection. Before I bought this table I asked a cabinet-maker to give me an estimated price for a similar table, but totally with wood (no veneer) and a simpler design (and not as nice). I purchased this table to go with the end table and coffee table I had already purchased and loved. This chair side table is narrower than the end table and fits perfectly between my 2 matching chairs. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a piece that doesn't take up a lot of space. The drawer is nice and deep with makes for ample storage and the bottom shelf is perfect for magazines, etc. The color and finish is nice and as pictured. I purchased these pieces to replace the Ethan Allen pieces I had for many years. They are traditional but have a casual elegance. I am waiting for the console table to be restocked so I can purchase it to finish off my living room. The only fault I can find with the piece is the height. This beautiful table blends just about anywhere...I replaced two round glass and metal end tables with two of the Japanese end tables in my family room next to the couch and they actually take up less space and provide storage that the others didn't have...I covered the top of these tables with glass to protect the beautiful finish...For me there is no downside to my purchase...They fit in any decor and add an interesting exotic but subtle flair...My niece flipped when she saw them and so did I when I removed them from the box...No assembly required!
