The table I receive is darker than the picture on the web site. I would say that it is dark cherry. The construction is solid and mostly made of veneer (top, shelf, drawer and sides) but there are many small imperfections. I think that these small imperfections should be expected at this price (a few years ago I bought a very good dining table at a local store and there were many small imperfections). When I received it the shelf was broken (due to poor packaging from the seller) and one leg had a more important imperfection. So I took some pictures and sent them to Wayfair. The next day I received an email from Wayfair indicating that a replacement for the shelf and a leg had been ordered. No need to return the broken parts, no question. When we buy on internet we normally get a better price and a better choice. The question is always “What will happen if something is broken or doesn’t perform correctly”. To Wayfair I would give a 6 stars. For the table I would give a 4 star because of poor packaging and the imperfections. But at this price I do not expect perfection. Before I bought this table I asked a cabinet-maker to give me an estimated price for a similar table, but totally with wood (no veneer) and a simpler design (and not as nice).
