I bought 2 of these tables to go next to my sofa. The tables were sent quickly, well packed and they are well made at a great price. They look like beautiful heirlooms. However, I will be using them in my bedroom do to the fact that I neglected to measure the height of the tables. This table is exactly as pictured and looks great in my living room. We have a sectional with an end table at only one end, so table space is limited. This is definitely the perfect end table for anyone who has pets! Before I purchased this, my dog had accidently bumped my end tables, tipping over and/or breaking a lamp several times. Now, it wouldn't matter if he crashed into it chasing a ball! The table is sturdy and with the lamp permanetly attached through the table...no more accidents! The advantage of the storage area under the table is an added bonus. The ONLY reason I did not give this 5 stars is because the lamp shade was a pain to put together and is not that attractive.
