Emile Henry 2.6 Qt. Tagine Flame

Emile Henry's new line of Burgundy Clay Flame-Top ceramics products work directly on a gas flame or an electric or halogen hob without a diffuser, without any fear of cracking or breaking. Much lighter, (30%), than many types of comparable metal cookware products, Flame-Top is microwave and dishwasher-safe, cleans up very easily, is extremely strong and durable, goes under the broiler, and can go directly from a freezer or a refrigerator to a hot oven to the table, where it will retain the cooking heat for a very long time.

Great gift for my wife

from Toronto, ON – Verified Buyer

We recently vacationed in Morocco and really enjoyed the food. My wife loves to cook so I had to get her a tagine. This product is very high quality and there is a range colors. My wife loved her gift and I can't wait till she cooks with it. My only complaint is that the shipping time was excessive.

Tagine in Black by Emile Henry

from Massachusetts – Verified Buyer

To date, I have used the tagine on a gas stove top several times. The various dishes I prepared came out very well. My only negative with the tagine is that throughout the cooking process liquid inside the tagine escaped at the junction of the lid and the base and was "spit" all over the stove top. Since this is the first tagine I have ever owned, I do not know if this is normal for a tagine or not.

Love My Purple Tagine!

from Maple Ridge, BC – Verified Buyer

Used it for the first time last night...it has a big enough base that you can easily feed 4 to 6 people with it. Cooked my chicken dinner beautifully, the chicken breasts came out moist and tender, potatoes and veggies cooked to perfection. One dish in an hour, what's not to love!!

Awesome Tagine

from Brantford, Ontario, Canada

A tagine is an amazing cooking utensil. Meats and fish turn out flavorful and very moist. Spices and flavors meld together perfectly. I am sure this is due to the unique top which allows moisture to circulate continually as the dish cooks. Cleanup is surprisingly easy. We are very happy with our purchase.

Emile Henry Tagine

from Philadelphia, PA – Verified Buyer

I almost purchased the Le Creuset version of this type of cookware, but liked the ceramic material of the Emile Henry better than cast iron. The price was also much more reasonable, and overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Beautiful piece of cookware and large enough to cook a big meal. I concur with other reviews that you need to watch how much liquid you add to the recipe as it will spill out. Also, instead of using water for the beef tagine recipe that came with the unit, I would suggest beef broth, with some red wine.
