About Chef Emeril Legasse
Inspired by his mother Hilda to become a professional chef, Emeril first worked at a Portuguese bakery where he mastered the art of bread and pastry making. After high school, he turned down a full music scholarship to pursue his love of cooking. He earned an undergraduate degree and honorary doctorate from the legendary Johnson and Wales University. Then traveled to Paris and Lyon to study the classic art of French cuisine. Returning to the States, Emeril polished his skills in fine restaurants in New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
When the Big Easy called, Emeril answered by becoming executive chef at the famous Commander's Palace. He's been treating us to his talents ever since these days, in restaurants of his own making. Emeril is the chef-proprietor of 10 restaurants, including three in New Orleans, two in Las Vegas, two in Orlando, one in Atlanta and one in Miami. Emeril has just opened his tenth restaurant in June 2007, Emeril's Gulf Coast Fish House, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Also an established cookbook author, Chef Emeril Lagasse has authored five books exceeding two million in sales!

good pan and lightweight The best thing about this pan is its weight. It is about half the weight of our prior saute pan which makes life much easier. Heats evenly, cleans up well. |

Love cooking with this pan Purchased along with a set, this pan is big and deep. It works great for casseroles done on the stove. It cooks evenly and cleans up easily. |

Can Cook Generous Gourmet Portions Product Review I think that this could be an extremely versatile piece of cookware for just about anyone's kitchen. It has seared a roast, married the flavors of a seafood pasta dish, and simmered curry. I could've easliy doubled the recipe for the last two dishes if I was cooking for a full house or a party. I read a review somewhere that suggested this piece as a substitute for a Dutch oven and I think that's realistic and very practical. Service Review The package came promptly and I appreciated the innovative recycled packing materials. |

Great multi-purpose piece This little gem has replaced the big unwieldy copper-bottom skillet I've used for ages to prepare several favorite one-dish recipes, as well as the ancient cast-iron dutch oven I thought was mandatory for making roux and gumbo, and beef stew. Dual handles make it easy to lift/move the full pan, and with the glass lid I can monitor the contents at a glance. Heat distribution is excellent; clean-up is easy if one follows the product guidelines for use. |
