About Chef Emeril Legasse
Inspired by his mother Hilda to become a professional chef, Emeril first worked at a Portuguese bakery where he mastered the art of bread and pastry making. After high school, he turned down a full music scholarship to pursue his love of cooking. He earned an undergraduate degree and honorary doctorate from the legendary Johnson and Wales University. Then traveled to Paris and Lyon to study the classic art of French cuisine. Returning to the States, Emeril polished his skills in fine restaurants in New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
When the Big Easy called, Emeril answered by becoming executive chef at the famous Commander's Palace. He's been treating us to his talents ever since these days, in restaurants of his own making. Emeril is the chef-proprietor of 10 restaurants, including three in New Orleans, two in Las Vegas, two in Orlando, one in Atlanta and one in Miami. Emeril has just opened his tenth restaurant in June 2007, Emeril's Gulf Coast Fish House, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Also an established cookbook author, Chef Emeril Lagasse has authored five books exceeding two million in sales!

Great Cookware I love this cookware!! Knew it would be good or Emeril would not have put his name on it. We were very pleased with the ease of ordering and especially pleased with no shipping cost and fast delivery. Most no cost shipping items take at least a week; we got ours in 3 days!! |

Excellent value for the money Product Review This cookware set approximates the All Clad experience at a fraction of the cost. If you are looking for your first quality cookware set and are hesitant about spending a lot of money, this set is for you. The copper core in this set provides a noticeable step up over conventional cookware. You'll be able to turn the heat down and still cook food quickly. (I also think this set would make a great wedding gift.) Service Review Outstanding customer service. I appreciated the follow-up email immediately following my order. It took less than a week to receive my cookware set. |

Use lower heats and it's great cookware! Product Review New users of clad stainless steel, especially those switching from non-stick pans, MUST take into account the need to cook at much lower temperatures. If you experiment with this and get good at it you'll never go back to non-stick and risk the peeling coating getting in your family's food. A good set of stainless (and this is a very good set) can last a lifetime if meticulously cleaned inside and out after each use. Sometimes a soaking is necessary, but these pans clean wonderfully. I recommend a Scotchbrite Dobie pad for scouring without scratching your stainless. One thing I both loved and hated was the lids. With the pour spouts on the saucepans and the straining lids you can properly vent during cooking and strain without a colander. However, cooking with the lids on causes the lid handles to get very hot. I have another set of stainless at my other home with silicone padding in the handles and this doesn't happen. Other than having to grab that potholder for the lids, these are super cookware. Service Review Cookware arrived promptly and packaged nicely. |
