About Chef Emeril Legasse
Inspired by his mother Hilda to become a professional chef, Emeril first worked at a Portuguese bakery where he mastered the art of bread and pastry making. After high school, he turned down a full music scholarship to pursue his love of cooking. He earned an undergraduate degree and honorary doctorate from the legendary Johnson and Wales University. Then traveled to Paris and Lyon to study the classic art of French cuisine. Returning to the States, Emeril polished his skills in fine restaurants in New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
When the Big Easy called, Emeril answered by becoming executive chef at the famous Commander's Palace. He's been treating us to his talents ever since these days, in restaurants of his own making. Emeril is the chef-proprietor of 10 restaurants, including three in New Orleans, two in Las Vegas, two in Orlando, one in Atlanta and one in Miami. Emeril has just opened his tenth restaurant in June 2007, Emeril's Gulf Coast Fish House, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Also an established cookbook author, Chef Emeril Lagasse has authored five books exceeding two million in sales!

Great so far I have not used the grill side yet, but pancakes, hash browns, and bacon came out great on the griddle side. |

Good Value I was a little disapointed in the size. The measurements given include the handles and I did not realize how much smaller the actual working area was. But, overall it is a good value for the money. |

BAM! Product Review We use this on our middle elongated burner. The griddle fits over it nicely and you can get 4-6 pancakes going simultaneously which greatly improves pancake throughput versus the round cast iron skillet I normally use. Service Review Arrived on time and in perfect condition |

Great Grill I love my Emeril's grill/griddle now...but the first few times I used it, the food stuck and burnt on the grill. It says it is seasoned and ready to cook on, but I would recommend seasoning it a few times before you use it. The griddle side wasn't so bad, but food still stuck the first time I used it. Otherwise, I love the size, enough space to cook a full meal and the heat seems to distribute evenly. |

BELOW EXPECTATIONS 1-Matte finish is coarse and hard to clean 2-EVERYTHING i try to cook sticks to grille 3-Cooking oil runs off grille before cooking 4-A real bear to clean I use a cast iron frying pan (40years) 1-To clean I use a paper towel& wipe it with a coating of olive oil.If I have to wash it I dry it on the stove to prevent rusting & coat it with EVOO My adice on the grille: 1-Get rid of the paint 2-Get rid of the hump on the grilling surface. |

BIG disapointment I only used the SMOOTH surface and found it to be 1-A very course surface (like sandpaper) 2-Everything sticks to it,(I use olive oil, vegtable oil, cooking spray, and butter, nothing works. Can't be used for eggs or pancakes since everything quickly runs into greese catcher. 3-Thinking about sanding the sticky, rough surface to see if that would improuve it |

Nice griddle I like this new griddle - it is a good size to fit on top of my gas stovetop. I have 7 children so we needed a large grill/griddle and this is perfect. My criticisms are: it is heavy, but this is to be expected with cast iron, and the first time I used it we cooked eggs which I cannot seem to completely clean off the griddle. Maybe I did something wrong - but I did put oil on ahead of time like the directions stated... so, this is a concern. I have since cooked turkey burgers on the grill side (which tend to be sticky), and these cleaned off well. |
