About Chef Emeril Legasse
Inspired by his mother Hilda to become a professional chef, Emeril first worked at a Portuguese bakery where he mastered the art of bread and pastry making. After high school, he turned down a full music scholarship to pursue his love of cooking. He earned an undergraduate degree and honorary doctorate from the legendary Johnson and Wales University. Then traveled to Paris and Lyon to study the classic art of French cuisine. Returning to the States, Emeril polished his skills in fine restaurants in New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
When the Big Easy called, Emeril answered by becoming executive chef at the famous Commander's Palace. He's been treating us to his talents ever since these days, in restaurants of his own making. Emeril is the chef-proprietor of 10 restaurants, including three in New Orleans, two in Las Vegas, two in Orlando, one in Atlanta and one in Miami. Emeril has just opened his tenth restaurant in June 2007, Emeril's Gulf Coast Fish House, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Also an established cookbook author, Chef Emeril Lagasse has authored five books exceeding two million in sales!

Love this skillet It cleans up nice and it's becoming more and more non stick with each use. I think this will become one of my favorite skillets. Pour spouts on both sides are great. |

wonderful I ordered this skillet for my sister who has a nice collection of cast iron pans. I hoped this would be a good one- not cheap and flimsy. boy did I get a surprise! The pan is wonderful-it is heavy like some other people said in their reviews but with two handles it wont be a problem. And it was shipped promptly. |

Great Skillet! I'm usually wary of celebrity chef products, but this cast iron skillet is a great product. It's very heavy, durable, and does everything cast iron is supposed to do. My fried chicken, french toast, and pancakes all cooked great in this product. It's a steal for the price! |

Perfect size for a family! This pan is very heavy, which is what you want in a cast iron skillet. It stays where you put it!! No sliding around on your burners. This skillet heat up pretty quickly. By the time I was done trimming and cutting the meat, the heat was ready to for it. The food cooked evenly, which was much appreciated by me. When the stove top part of my recipe was done, it easily transferred to the oven for browning the top under my broiler. Another plus was that the chicken left the pan effortlessly, including the melted cheese. I cleaned the pan immediately after use, and it was easy, I just used a nylon spatula to loosen the couple of bits left on the skillet. I enjoy my new kitchen toy, and can't wait to use it again. |

A bona fide cast iron skillet I have gotten my monies worth purchasing this cast iron. This is my firtst time working with such material. For me it is heavy at times to lift. As far as cooking, I like the fact that it can be used both on top and inside the stove. |
