I bought this because we were going to use it in the back of the truck on a raised bed to sleep in while we traveled across country. It worked very well. It was comfortable, fit the back of the truck and served its purpose. Now that we are home, to store it we have slit it under the mattress of our sleep number bed and that works well for storage and our bed, This was a good purchase!

[...] However, when we got a chance to use it, we discovered the foam padding is far too stiff for something meant to be slept on. It didn't provide much more padding than your average carpeted floor, and that was through a fairly thick sleeping bag. Hopefully, over time, it will soften up, however that may take a while since we only use it for camping. But so far, it's far too hard for my (or most anyone's in my opinion) liking. Also, in retrospect, I wish we had ordered the tan color instead, because the black picks up every dog hair, lint ball, dust atom etc. in existence. An annoyance but if it had worked better as a mattress, something easily ignored. It does fold up nicely, and is far easier to maneuver than the alternative futon mattress that we had considered (we hate inflatable mattresses) so that is a plus.2 out of 5 stars because it fails at it's intended purpose which is a sleeping cushion, but IS nice and portable.
