The Phonics Pad has many cards and activity levels, making it appropriate for young children who are not reading, up to elementary age. Young children will need help at first, but then will be able to choose the card they like and play alone, using cards that do not require reading. Older kids will enjoy picking the cards and playing alone, practicing skills necessary for reading while playing fun, colorful games. We bought the Phonics pad to supplement homeschooling with a 4 and 6 year old. It makes a good learning tool to use during family time -- my grandkids love taking turns and playing with an adult as well as alone. It is simple, just a card that fits into the pad frame, with touch pad and instructions. A little pricey for the basic construction and technology."..."  Read more

This is our second marble run from The Learning Journey (other is the Galaxy) and our 6 yr. old son loves it. Yes, it does take awhile to put together and the pieces are hard to push together (my hand was somewhat red from pushing all the pieces together) - but in the end it's all worth it for the hours he spends playing with it. I think this definitely takes an older child or adult to put together. Yes, occasionally marbles do fall off the track - but that's all part of the game. The two splitters allow the marbles to move to all the different tracks. We use our own marbles and identify one and try to keep an eye on where it goes. I would recommend this to anyone who loves marble runs."..."  Read more
