I commented on these pans in May, 2010. (New purchase back then!) Well, still using the pans, still have no negatives to make and still have a "PERFECT" interior in ALL the pans! My husband (who also cooks with the pans - we call it "every man for himself" when it comes to breakfast and lunch!) and I use non-metal utensils with the pans and thus, still have the same, like-new nonstick interior in the pans! Easy to clean. I do not have a problem with things sticking. I use the fry pans for cooking fish, for example, with very little oil and have great luck and results. I am not a big cook with oil, heavy frying etc. I did purchase a larger sauce pan/pot of a different brand, like I said in my last review because sometimes I like to cook a larger portion of, for example, pasta. It looks much like these pans and so I was happy to have this larger pan. It is not available with this set. But, this other brand's pan has a nice top with glass etc just like these pans but when something cooks in this pan, the handle on the glass top gets HOT! The Earth Pans you are considering here are different - the handle on the tops stays cool enough to be able to just pick off the top with your hand without using a potholder. I do love this! The reason I am on this site is to purchase the pan set for my brother who is single and just purchased a new home. We want to give him a house-warming gift - he mentioned that he needs pots and pans. He is a GREAT cook! I see, still, that the price of these pans remains affordable for most everyone vs the higher priced competitive brand! Actually the price went down and even is a better price when you consider the rebate that is available. I got a rebate also last year. Thanks! Nice looking pans! You might look back at my older review and notice my mention that these pans were rated 1st choice by a major consumer magazine! I put a paper towel between the pans when I "nest" them in my cabinet so as not to scratch the exteriors. Easy way to keep the outside looking terrific too! No pans last a lifetime but these seem to have won my praise! Bon appetit !

I have been using these pans for about 3 weeks now. The first use was with breakfast, eggs - was alittle disappointed with that first use but after this use and the pan had some cooking oil in it, the surface seemed to be "primed" or something so that the next use and those afterwards - EXCELLENT! I like the shape of the sauce pans - just contemporary feeling. I ordered and just received today the 12 inch fry pan - this set does not include a large frying pan or a top for it. But, I have used the 10 inch fry pans for things and they are sufficient most times as I do not have a huge family. Am happy to have the bigger frying pan tho but wish that it had a top included with it. Prior to getting these pans I was using cookware that my husband purchased after seeing them on TV. It had a "lifetime" guarantee - but this company has gone out of business! Whose lifetime???? Theirs obviously!!! The inside finish on the pans was a mess! Peeled so badly!!!!!!!! Tossed those pans out immediately after these new pans came! I am hoping that this cookware will have a better longevity in my kitchen. But, I do know that cookware these days, of any sort, does get old and will show wear and will need replacement sometime. Do not buy any pans and think they will last forever! I plan to use utensils that are designed not to scratch cookware surfaces. I am not a cook that uses high cooking flames etc. so I think that I will enjoy using these pans for a long time. (I do not like "grease" spattering up into the air and all over my stove and myself, so no high flames here. Hot, high flames must have negative effects on things, well I figure they must.) I have looked at higher priced competitive cookware and I just cannot spend that much money on cookware of any sort! Again, I do find that pans are not designed anymore to last forever. Are those higher priced ones longer lasting? Perhaps some of you know........................... Cleaning these pans is easy and complete in very little time. I like this as do not like BIG, stuck on messes to clean when the energy I have to make dinner after work is about all the energy I have left after a very stressful nursing job (but I enjoy it!). I dislike cookware that is heavy to hold when food is in it. These pans have good quality but do not weigh too much to handle with ease. Also, not too light- light weight would indicate poor quality to me. So, buy the pans if you think they will meet your needs. I'd like a 3 quart sauce pan - but will look for one in another brand as one is not available at all in this cookware line. But, still, this is just a matter of something I like sometimes, like for boiling a larger batch of pasta. Again, a product and service rating magazine does rate these pans well. I had read about them one night online before getting an article on pots and pans. Good luck with your decision! I'm hoping that mine, to purchase these pans, was a good one! I also like having "my guests" see nice looking pans on my stove!

Am pleased with pans so far.

I feel that the long handles could be a real safety issue. They are so long that they stick out over the edge of the counter. A child (or adult) walking by could easily hit the handle and send the pan to the floor. Would cause serious injury if it contained hot oil or water. The length of the handles also makes the pans feel very heavy when you lift them. I find myself grabbing the handle at the mid point.
value for the money

the pans heat evenly and clean up easily. the non-stick coating is durable and the pans are sturdy and eye appealing.

I'm not much of a cook (yet) but plan to be with my new cookware. A key factor in my purchase was that it has an 8-qt. stockpot; many other sets have just a 6-qt. Also, the non-PTFE feature. So far have just used for eggs and am amazed at how easy the clean up is. They are sturdy but easy to handle. This was my first "investment" in cookware - so far the set seems like a great value for the money. Plus it's made by Farberware, which never seems to disappoint.
