In 1888, Edward Katzinger founded a commercial baking pan company in Chicago, IL. It eventually became known as the EKCO® Housewares Co., and by the mid 1960’s it evolved as the country’s largest non-electric Housewares manufacturer. While EKCO® Cookware is still offered in our vast product portfolio, EKCO® kitchen tools and gadgets grew at a tremendous rate over the years and historically EKCO® was the only notable kitchenware brand, almost single-handedly servicing the marketplace for many, many years. The EKCO® brand became the gold standard for quality, reliable utensils that were used for everyday day meal preparation in kitchens across America. Even with the variety of items to choose from today, EKCO® tools and gadgets still remain one of the most recognizable and trusted brands in the business!
Sharp and Sturdy
Michael from Oldsmar, FL– Verified Buyer
This apple corer arrived very quickly from Wayfair and worked as expected. The blades are definitely sharp enough and the overall construction seems to be fairly solid. The only issue that you need to keep in mind is that not all apples are the same size and shape, so an apple with a larger core is going to leave some tough core in the "edible" sections and a smaller apple would likely leave some good fruit in the center core section. And, apples don't usually lay flat on the counter so when you are pushing down on the corer to cut, you may likely be cutting in a slightly diagonal direction which can lead to some of the bottom core getting stuck in your edible sections.
Difficult to function

With arthritis in my hands, I thought this item would assist as using a knife is difficult. But this doesn't quite seems sharp enough and a little dangerous as the bottom of the apple wobbles. May look for another design.
