Who would think I would get so excited about a doggie gate? I've had years of the light wooden bars or light wood and white plastic grid gates. They damage the walls when pressure-held or they fall when you try leaning them against doorways. You trip over the short ones and you have to undo and redo the taller ones to get through. Years of hassle, let me tell you! This gate in mahogany starts out just looking better. The fact that it folds and supports itself is so incredible, but better still is the gate --in the gate. It has an easy lift-to-latch design that works beautifully. After using nylon cable ties to lash gets together to get the width, this gate expands and then some to solve the problem with sturdiness. It "goes" with my dark wood furniture as well, so there is form with the function. And once you put this up (in seconds), you don't have to think about it again.
This is both attractive and practical!

We needed a way to keep our new puppy out of the den that is adjacent to our living room because it is carpeted and she was using the carpet as a wee pad. This is long enough to do this since there is no doorway and we needed something to block off 100 inches. Pros: Attractive and well built. I love that it has an easy to use gate that opens up and locks closed again so that we can walk in and out. Cons: I wish it were just a bit lighter shade of brown. It would be great to have had more color choices, but still I love it.
Wish I purchased this years ago

We have 2 Beagles and a Pitbull. We've used this gate to confine the dogs to a bedroom if we have company and are serving appy's (the Beagles are food thieves) or when company arrives with another dog (one Beagle is not friendly with new dogs) and most recently our Pittbull needed knee surgery and needs to be confined for 6 wks. We are able to confine her to an area wherever we are, i.e., the bedroom, family room, etc. 'This is the best gate I've ever purchased and looks nice too....well worth the money.

We have just relocated to a new home in South Carolina and needed a means to occasionally contain our pet. This gate was the perfect answer with a dual swing door and 5 large sections to span the perfect location in our home. The dark finish blends well with our hard wood floors. This was an excellent solution for us.
Excellent Quality Gate

This gate is just what I needed to keep my new cat from getting out of the apartment - wide enough to fit across the opening, stable so he cannot knock it down, and tall enough to make it inconvenient to jump over so he stays on the other side. It fits in nicely with the rest of my furniture and has received many compliments. The gate comes already assembled so you just need to pull it out of the box to set it up.
great multi-use gate

Wooden gates are expensive and so I wanted to make sure I purchased a gate that could meet my growing needs. This gate does just that. I currently took two pieces off to block a doorway from my kitchen to dining room and use the other 3 sections to block the dining room entrance and stairs in my foyer. When my dog gets older, I will use all full 5 pieces attached to block a larger area in my mudroom where the dog can relax while we are at work. The 5 pc unit comes with a strap for holding it closed when not in use. I used that strap to attach one end to my banister for a more secure set up by my stairs. Over all the quality is good and the color goes well with dark or light woodwork. If the price was a little cheaper it would have gotten 5 stars.
Love it, but don't lean on it

This couldn't be easier - it comes all put together and ready to go, just pull it out of the box. It really looks great. Though it clearly says "indoor only" I am actually using it outside and it seems to be holding up well in the weather (though I imagine this unofficial use effects it's life span). My only little qualm is that though it is free standing, it doesn't have those long feet on the ends, so it is pretty wobbly. My little dog (15lbs), for example, could easily knock it over if he jumped up on it. To really use it as a pet gate you would have to secure it in place with something or it would definitely fall over (easily).

Great product. Great customer service. Two day shipping took four. First item received was poorly packed and damaged. Second was much better.

Great gate. We got a new puppy and needed a gate to close off my dining room and plush white rug. I needed 103" and they are hard to find. This was perfect and it looks nice.
