Duffel Bags

I do a lot of club and ballroom dancing and this bag works great for holding dance shoes, towel, drinks, cell phone, camera, paperwork, etc. It is not too big or too small. I had been using the typical small zippered bag that you would buy at a ballroom dance supply store which is about the same capacity of a shoe box...too small! I am constantly going to practice and was using multiple bags. I found I could consolidate everything that I need into this one bag. One thing I really like and that the description fails to mention is the "hidden" zippered side pocket in the main compartment. It uses a tiny zipper and I use it for putting my wallet in. The shoulder strap quick release hardware and attachments are all made of sturdy metal which I really appreciate. I use this bag 4 times a week so it must be sturdy and it is. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with is that the description said it has "four feet at the base for additional protection" but it does not. It is just flat. However this has no consequence for me so I won't deduct any stars because of it. It may be an important feature to others so I thought I would mention it and maybe Wayfair can fix the description as it is misleading. My bag has the company name "travelwell" as opposed to "Goodhope" so maybe there was a manufacturer change and that's why they forgot the four feet on the bottom I don't know. One other minor detail is that I don't understand what "fully lined green interior" means. It certainly is not the color green on the inside, it is black. In the end, I would highly recommend this bag to a friend and in fact already have. I've had difficulty finding this size/style of bag for my uses so I was happy to discover it at Wayfair and wouldn't hesitate recommending to purchase it from them. I was a little put-off by the high price at first, but once the product arrived, thought it was money well-spent. This bag looks like it was made to last for not just years, but decades. Tough but attractive outer layer looks almost leather-like. Nice, rugged leather handles are very securely attached to the bag. The inside is beautifully lined in tan and has pockets for shoes as well as another zippered pocket that is quite large. My husband, a hiker, loves duffel bag-type luggage and this was bought to replace a bag he'd had since college. Unlike the old bag, which now sports several holes in the bottom, the bottom of this bag is leather-lined and has several little "feet" that look pretty securely attached. The side clips are welcome additions to any duffle bag. When secured they can really shrink the bag if it's not fully loaded, making packing the car a little easier (or fitting it in an overhead luggage rack, no doubt). I got this bag to replace my old roller duffle which had failed at the end handle opposite the wheels (takes alot of loading when pulling bag up stairs) and at the bottom corners where the stitching would split. This bag solved both those weakness with the hard-bottom structure with integrated end handle. Despite the hard bottom, this bag is extremely light even with aluminum rolling handle and wheels. Inside bag is quite large and has a cool feature that the space in some of the outside compartments, if not filled, can be filled by the inside contents because of the way the inside dividers are designed. My only complaint with the bag is that the fabric, though strong, isn't quite rigid enough. So that when half or 3/4 full and in the rolling position, the contents will all settle to the wheels end. Overall, I am very happy with the bag. I travel frequently to Europe and, though large, this bag can be managed on trains and narrow European hotel hallways and stairways."..."  Read more

I owned a similar bag many years ago so was delighted to get this version. I use this bag to carry my cycling gear. Cycling shoes and socks in the bottom compartment. 3 water bottles in the middle compartment. Shorts, shirt and a small towel in the top compartment. Energy bars, sunscreen, gloves, bike computer etc in the six pockets inside the 'door' of the bag. Maps, cell phone etc in the external pockets. This bag is great for carrying a variety of items while keeping them organized and separate. For example soiled clothes can go in one compartment where they won't touch everything else in the bag. Small items are easy to find in the bag as they can be in individual pockets rather than jumbled up with other stuff at the bottom of a bag. What is not so great? The quality of this bag seems to be poorer than the one I owned before. The material for the 'shelves' is not as thick or rigid. The bag itself does not appear to be as sturdy and the finish - the heat-sealed vinyl edges for example - could be better. However for the price this bag is good value.
