Drueke is a company as classic as the games they manufacture. With over 90 years in the business, their history is as proud as the products they sell.
In the early 20th century all chess sets sold in the United States were manufactured in Europe. With the outbreak of World War I in 1914, the supply of chess sets to the U.S. ceased. In response, William F. Drueke, a skilled hand carver and wood worker, began supplying Marshall Fields' stores in Chicago with wooden chess sets and chess pieces. Since that moment the Drueke Company has been providing the U.S with beautifully crafted chess pieces and other games.
The Drueke Company is now known as a quality game manufacturer in the United States that uses nothing but the finest walnut, maple and aspen for its products. Their chess boards are their oldest product now being manufactured with the cribbage board a close second. In addition, they are the only manufacturer today with a complete line of round wooden poker chip racks ranging from the 200 - 500 chip capacity. They have the most complete line of cribbage boards in the United States and possibly the world. Drueke also manufactures high-quality action games, backgammon, dominos, checkers, game boxes, chess tables and wooden accessories.
In 1954 The Drueke Company purchased the first of three plastic injection molding machines to manufacture plastic game parts. The plastic game parts they now offer such as our interlocking poker chips, chess sets and cribbage pegs are considered the standard by which all other plastic pieces are judged.
Drueke continues to manufacture the highest quality games in the country and prides itself on selling products as proud and strong as its history.
