I have an active toddler and another baby on the way. We wanted a taller TV stand in our game room so the TV is high but not too high. I didnt want kiddie furniture and I wanted something that conceals the movies adn kept the room looking clean. This was perfect. It is very high quality and was delivered in perfect condition. The drawers are large and can hold PLENTY of board games, large Wii accessories, etc. Also, the drawers are harder to open for a child than doors. I also like that it is wood drawers rather than glass doors so that they will not break during horse play. Besides using this in a playroom, I could see putting this in a bedroom if it matched your decor. It is very nice, vintage looking. I got the green which is a subtle, muted green, not bright green. I love it. The distressing is significant but not overdone. The ONLY downpoint are the flip down glass doors. I like them, but the media devices sit level with the bottom hinges of the flip door. Nowadays, DVDs and other devices are quite thin, adn so the wood trim blocks the remote and our vision to the DVD player. So we will have to put a box or somehting in there to raise the device into the window. Minor, but still isnt perfect. So someone who will pile devices in here, you will have to put the taller device on bottom and hope it clears the wood."..."  Read more

This media center is very sturdy. The drawers open smoothly with adequate space inside. I really like the cabinet-like shelf on the right side, as it has several shelves inside. The top shelf has a convenient hole in the back of the wood to slide cords through. The top of the media center has a very glossy black finish. So keep that in mind.
