Originally, I wanted to purchase the Steel Magnolia 9 drawer dresser, but my wall was to short to accomadate it...so I chose this dresser. So glad I did...this dresser is amazingly stunning! The proportions and scale are of a nice substantial size. I've been familiar many years with Universal Furnitures line of furniture. They have always produced a quality product at an affordable price. The Paula Deen Furniture collection is made in China. The drawers are nicely dovetailed, and sprayed with sealer on the insides. The back panels of the dresser are screwed on (not stapled). If you like the look of distressed furniture, this whole collection is an excellent choice. I wanted the dresser top Mirror with 2 Drawers (that is partially pictured on top of this dresser), and had to make purchase through another vendor. It completes this whole look. The 2 drawers underneath the mirror do not open...instead the whole top is on a piano hinge, and lifts up. It came with a nice velvet jewelry compartment, and a power strip so you can charge your cell phones (or other things hidden)without having all the clutter on top of the dresser."..."  Read more

It's very nice looking; doesn't look cheap, and I am happy with it. I have had my share of putting together inexpensive prefab pieces of furniture and this one went pretty well. All of the holes lined up correctly. My gripes: The interior drawer panels are pretty cheap, fake wood material. There are clips that you nail in along the back of the drawers to "hold" the bottom of the drawer to the rest of the drawer. Those did not go in easily and we ended up poking them through into the back of of the drawer, so now all of the clothes along the back of the drawer can be snagged. Also, this piece includes something that prevents you from opening more than one drawer at at time. I don't know the benefit of this in the first place, and if one drawer is even the tiniest bit open, you can't open any of them. Pointless feature. I am favorably impressed with the quality of this dresser. For the price I was setting myself up to expect a cheaply made piece of furniture (which I could deal with as it is going in a child's room and I will be painting it/distressing it anyway). However, it is actually very nicely constructed. All drawers are dovetailed (not stapled/glued together), lined on the bottom with a velvet-like material, and run on smooth metal glides. The dresser itself is heavy and sturdy and is almost entirely composed of solid wood. I am not a fan of the look of white furniture straight from the factory, but I have to say this piece looks quite elegant as it is. The picture does not do it justice IMO. I would recommend this dresser to anyone who is looking for a solid piece of furniture but doesn't want to pay through the nose for it."..."  Read more

This is a beautiful dresser! It has a classic look and looks great in our nursery. It is constructed well, the drawers are on sturdy rollers and I was pleased to find out that the slats that give pink color in the drawers can be turned over or replaced and the dresser can actually be purple, green, white OR pink! The dresser is not white, but rather bone... which was a disappointment. The bone surfaces scratch easily (from a ring I was wearing) but "Magic Eraser" took care of most of it. There was also a small crack in one of the drawers and they don't fit perfectly in the dresser - but neither issue is a huge deal or impairs the overall look. It was worth the money and we're looking forward to using for years with our little girl!"..."  Read more
