Having purchased this product, sight unseen, I was skeptical. I purchased this based on the manufacturer's reputation and the quality of other products I have seen which they sell (Cresent).It exceeds expectations with the exception of the drawer glides which are not the same quality or style as other Cresent dressers I looked at. The drawer glides used on their other dressers were a selling feature for me. The drawers on this dresser do not open or close easily as with their other products.However, the quality of this furniture in comparison to other dressers within the same price range is without a doubt far superior. I ordered the South Shore Newton dresser, mirror, chest of drawers and nighstand to match an existing bund bed set(solid wood, another brand) in my son's room. I was looking for a decent quality at a low price. I knew I was ordering pressboard type furniture (solid wood would be much more expensive). I was actually quite impressed with the finished look and solidness of the construction. The assembly directions were written well and, though it took quite a bit of time to assemble all pieces, it went very smoothly. I do wish the drawer slides were metal rather than plastic. FINALLY. A piece of furniture needing assembly that came with all the "little pieces" already assembled!! God bless the people who designed this dresser! [...] the pieces that always gave me a headache to put together (the drawer runners, e.g.) were already in place. Whoever thought this dresser through, did an OUTSTANDING job. And while there is always that one step where two people are really needed to carry it off without a hitch, I managed to muddle through, and now have a QUALITY, sturdy, beautiful, REAL WOOD dresser. I am especially pleased with the drawers themselves. They glide easily along the rails and are supported in the center to prevent any "sagging". This dresser was definitely a great buy. It is a beautiful, quality piece of furniture. I wish ALL "needs assembly furniture" were this good."..."  Read more

This item was purchased for our baby's room. I initially purchased the dresser for our baby's cloths, but put most of my prego cloths in it. The drawers are super deep. The only down fall to this item is that one of the drawers does not close all of the way. I've disassembled and reassembled it, but it's still a no go. I can wiggle it into place, but it takes some effort. After getting through the assembly of the item, the piece was good quality for the price that we paid for it.
