I purchased this rack to replace a very cheep particle board dvd rack that was nearly full and somewhat flimsy. I looked all over, and I do mean all over, both here in San Diego, and on the internet. And the best choice for me was here [...].I have purchased a few metal racks for my plasma hdtv and home theater equiptment from [...]in the past, and have had excellent service from them, so here I am again.Anyway, the Wood Shed 705 - 280 DVD Dowel Storage Rack is made of SOLID OAK...not one bit of particle board...all SOLID OAK including the dowels and feet. After rubbing a bit of Touch of Bees Wax wood preserver on this rack, waiting about 1 hour to let it soak in, then rubbing off any excess, the rack looks terrific, with just a touch of sheen to it. I placed my collection of standard, Blu ray and HD dvd's on this rack and it works perfecty, just as it was intended to do.For Blu ray & HD dvd's, you can fit about 50 per shelf. Regular dvd's, you can fit about 45 per shelf. So you may be able to hold more than 280 dvd's. ONE SMALL SIDE NOTE..it's not mentioned here on the rack dementions, so I'll post it to help others out. WITHOUT feet...24 1/4 inches wide.WITH feet attached......25 1/2 inches wide.Other rack dementions are exactly as stated[...]"..."  Read more

I ordered two of the Clear 55 CD Storage Racks. If you want a light tan wood color with nice grain, get the clear color. They are nicely finished and look good. The sliding stopbar is nice to have-it will keep the disks in a partially full rack from falling over. The overall construction was good. I put mine on top of two other floorstanding wooden media racks I already had and they fit well. If I could change something about these stands I would make them 6 inches longer for increased storage and a better fit with my other stands."..."  Read more
