About Winnie the Pooh
Winnie-the-Pooh made his debut appearance in 1926 as “Edward Bear”, the creation of the literary A. A. Milne. Promptly renamed, Pooh appeared in a few children’s books and several poems, each illustrated by E. H. Shepard. Later on, the Walt Disney Company dropped the hyphens in the character’s name when it adapted the Pooh stories into a series of Winnie the Pooh featurettes, quickly becoming a successful franchise in the company.
The origin of Winnie the Pooh is a conception fueled by the imagination of Milne’s son, Christopher Robin Milne, the inspiration for the character Christopher Robin, and his toy bear. Christopher had named his stuffed bear Winnie, after the real life bear, Winnipeg, whom his father and he would often visit at the London Zoo. The name “Pooh” is speculated to have been the name of a swan the two had encountered on vacation.
When the Walt Disney Company acquired the Winnie the Pooh rights in the 1930’s, the sky was the limit for him and the other characters of the 100 Acre Wood. Pooh and friends have stared in a live action series, several recreated animated series, many straight to video featurettes and theatrical feature-length films The Tiger Movie, Piglet’s Big Move and Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, as well as video games, clothing, toys and other products.

Beautiful Bedding Set! I bought this bedding set hoping it would look okay in our daughter's room. When it showed up on our doorstep, I was overwhelmed with how beautiful this design really was. The pictures don't do the colors justice. It really brightens up our daughter's room with the perfect amount of color. We didn't want anything too girly or too pink. This was the perfect mixture for my husband and me. We would definitely buy this product again, but I think this set will last through as many girls as we dare have:) |

My daughter loves it! We are expecting another daughter and we bought this set for our 18 month old for her "new" room. She loves Pooh Bear and she will be in the crib for a little longer and and then in the convertable toddler bed so we thought she would love it. We don't even have her room done yet and she has to have the comforter on the floor so she can lay on it and put her head on the characters. The characters are all made of soft & fluffy fabrics, even cutier in person then what the picture shows. Since she is older and we never really used the bumper when she was an infant we decided to make the bumper into pillows. She absolutly loves them and will look great on the bed as throws or for her to jump on. This is a great set for a girl, I highly recommend it. |
