We shopped around alot--we feel good about the value of this product. Similar styles were at least $500 more even at "furniture warehouse" store. Some areas you can see where the cost savings come from. (1) metal slats under mattresses (note that there are sharp edges exposed that we intend to cover somhow at the bottom of the top bunk slats). you could replace with wood on your own dime. (2) On the back side of the dresser, there is a pressboard cover printed to look like woodgrain--the forward facing edge is a little off-putting as it is grey--doesn't blend in with wood color. (3) The drawers feel a little lightweight/cheap compared to ones we saw at stores. We are OK with these things as we did not want to spend $500 more for our boy who will likely abuse this anyway. Assembly took some time, but there was nothing difficult about it. All the pieces were there. I'm not sure how you would do it with only one person--needed extra hands on some steps. With the exception of the little bit of grey on the pressboard, the finished product looks REALLY nice--especially for the price. We would recommend this.
Kids love it

Great quality piece. The price is better than expected for the value. Did arrive with missing screws necessary for assembly. Took 2 "handy" men approx 2 1/2 hours to assemble. Extra support required on frame to adequately support mattress. Pad back of ladder that abuts top bunk to prevent scratching of wood when ladder being used. Kids love it!
My daughters love it!

This took 3 people about 3 hours to assemble, it was pretty easy. I'd recommend using your own allen wrench set or else you'll probably drive yourself insane with the small one that the hardware set provides. I would recommend this bunk to friends, my daughters love it!
Excellent product. Overall a great bed.

This bed is great. I love how easy it was to put together and how sturdy it is. Also, the fact that the bottom bed is on wheels makes it so easy to adjust and move the bottom bed. Only thing that I don't like is the ladder moves around. Although it is secure on the railing, it slides back and forth, side to side, and has really scrapped off the finish in the front of the bed where it is attached. My husband had to super glue it to the railing to secure it so it would not slide around while my son was climbing on it. Other than that, we love this bed. Love the built in dresser and book shelves.

Very nice bed sturdy. Parts however were not labeled making it a little difficult to assemble overall though I am happy with my purchase.

We bought this for our 5 year old daughter. We had been looking at this set for a few months on a few other websites and it was priced over $1,000. When we found it here for less than $700 and free shipping, we knew we had to buy. Shipping was very fast, and even though we had to get it off the truck ourselves the driver was very helpful and had it stacked on pallets easy to move. Assembly was relatively easy, took my husband and I about 2 hours total. The dresser came put together which was nice. The top bunk was a little tough to allign, but after some grunting we got it. We've had it up about a month now, and our daughter loves it! The shelves go all the way through on the bottom bunk, so it's a neat place for a lamp and books. There is a lot of space under the bottom bunk as well for shoe bins or other storage. Our complaints, minor, are that one of the wheels broke off the bottom bunk the next day. And, the ladder for some reason doesn't sit against the top bunk correctly and has already dug a gouge into the wood.
Great bunk bed!

The bunk bed looks great - good quality and a good value. I managed to put this together with the help of my 6 year old son (which meant I mostly put this together myself). It took about two days with a lot of starting and stopping. But, the bed looks exactly like it does in the picture. Keep in mind that the shelves you see next to the the dresser have no back to them. Though, this is somewhat nice because I can now put a little lamp next to the full size portion below. One thing that seems a little off (but not enough to remove a star) is that the top bunk has no opening to the ladder. The kid has to climb over that railing to get to the ladder. My 6 year old has had no problem doing that however. Also, for all the moms out there -- don't forget what a pain it is to change the sheets on a top bunk. : )

Love it, you get what you see. It takes two people to build it but easy to assemble. Bottom is a full bed, two grown ups can fit in it. Top bunk bed would recommend to buy a thin mattress and maybe a separate pillow top cover so it could be soft but thin mainly so it won't go over the rail specially if its the child first time sleeping on the top bunk bed. You can find the mattress in rooms to go kid section, very enexpenssive. ask for a thin mattress for a top bunk bed you'll see the difference.
Very good quality bed

We love this bed for our little boy. There were a few dings from delivery but nothing too noticible. It seems to be pretty sturdy as well. My only complaint is it is a little bit shorter than I expected and easy to hit your head on the top bunk from the bottom. Just double check the measurements before ordering!
Great Bunk Bed!

We are very happy with this bunk bed. It is very beautiful, sturdy and well made, and we love the shelves and drawers that are included. It took two of us a little over an hour to put it together with minimal frustration (you will want to use your own Allen wrench --we used our folding hex key set-- to put it together since the ones provided are a pain to use). Another thing I like about this bunk bed is how the full bed can be pulled out, making it easy to change the sheets and vacuum under it. Over all, it is a great bed and we highly recommend it!
