I needed a smallish table with at least four chairs for my breakfast nook and this set fits the area well. Assembly of the set (which was done by my husband) was a bit tedious and awkward due to the many bolts required and the weight of the parts. I really like the style of this set and I think it will be sturdy enough to stand up to use by my three grandkids. However, it is not as "finished" as I would like. While the wood on the table and chairs is strong and finished nicely, the finish on the chairs is uneven and not the color I expected, plus there are sharp edges on the chair backs where welds weren't smoothed before painting."..." You're never totally certain what you're going to get when you order on-line (with only a picture to go by), but this set is terrific. [...]was easy to assemble & looks great. It has held up very well over the past 4 months and the chairs are quite comfortable. The finish is a matte black so finger, grease or water marks show but they can easily be wiped off with a damp cloth/sponge. It also is a bit distressed (intentionally) at the edges & other intermittent spots (not mentioned in the description) which gives it a bit of a vintage look. I still cannot get over how beautiful this set is in real life! The table at its' smallest position is still quite big. We play a lot of board games; and this set makes game nights spacious and comfortable! We are looking forward to hosting the next Christmas dinner around this table using the two 18" leaves! The two 18" leaves are stored under the table, which is very convenient. Having said this; however, we are tempted to remove the leaf holders from under the table to allow for more "knee room" for those blessed with very long legs (namely my tall husband)."..." Read more
