A very nice item to brighten up a formerly under-used area. It helped me create a reading corner in a room. I had seen my brother's electric fireplace (not the same model) and was impressed by the added heat it provided and by the realistic looking 'flames'. I was a little concerned about purchasing this fireplace over the internet because I could not see it work, but I found some reviews (now I am questioning how truthful they were) about this product and decided to go ahead. I also thought that its price (about $600) probably reflected a higher quality item than the more commonly seen models that are priced at around $300-$400. It is not yet mounted inside the wall, but is hanging on the wall until I can get it installed. It is sleek and striking in its visual design. It also seems sturdy. It was very easy to set up although surprisingly heavy. The only problems are 1.) The heat is blown down and can't be aimed away from the floor. 2.) The flames look cheap, like strips of blowing cellophane or a bad video of a fire. They are NOT realistic at all. I just expected more. I am not returning it, but I just do not think that the quality matches the price.
