We had been looking for a value priced unit that would give a realistic look and some additional heating to our family room. This will not disappoint you. If it had the crackling sound it would be perfect. Few things in life as we know are perfect. This fit our standard fireplace opening perfectly and due to our conversion to solar system on our house the operation is cost free!!!! Excellant company to deal with.

We purchased the fireplace insert just for the Ambience.We saw one last year at a big box store and decided to buy one this year, but they stopped handling it.Instead they had a cheap Chinesse knock off that cost more then the Dimplex. We found it online at wayfair a lot cheaper and the delivery was much faster then they had promised.We are very happy with it and extremely pleased with wayfair.The heater does a fair job as the room the firelace is rather large and open.The fireplace it is in is a heatalator metal box with heat runs built in to the walls with fans. I like the looks of a fire, but tired of fooling with the fire wood,keeping it lit and cleaning up the ash.This is just perfect and it has fooled the dog.She just cant understand why the fire behind the glassdoors isnt hot.Just buy it,You will love it, it looks so real. The remote is terrific.

Fits perfect in the original fireplace opening. Just what I wanted. Looks so real.

use in den for that fireplace feel. we enjoy and friends like the real look of the flame. we like the heating unit on cool mornings and for an 18' by 18' den the unit is surprisingly sufficient. haven't found a negative as of yet.

The only thing is I would like more heat.

I have enjoyed this fireplace. Easy to install. I have become allergic to smoke and can not use our wood fireplace. This is a great fireplace insert for the money. Only thing I would change is the mirror in the back. The top round should be smoke grey or black. It needs to only mirror the lower flame area.

So far we have been very pleased with it. Our electric bill did go up a bit but we have had colder weather than usual. Everyone who sees it thinks that it is either real or a gas log. Our only regret is that it does not come in a size that would make the blower up closer to the top of the fireplace opening as the heat would go out into the room better. It gives a nice ambiance to the room. It is easy to install, and you can add a couple of small logs to it, like I did, if you like.
