it's gorgeous~ i'd always wanted one, and when i moved into my new house, i got one! my only complaint is that the switch is inline rather than on the light itself, but of course that is simply a matter of personal preference, not a defect. i put a flourescent bulb in it, and it works just fine~ i can spotlight my book as i read in bed; that's probably the neatest feature (other than the really cool looks!)-- you can adjust it nearly infinitely and put the beam wherever you want: at you, away from you, at the ceiling ~ up, down, sideways...very versatile. this one is well made, and, as i said, gorgeous!
