Wine Cellar Designer Series 254 Bottle Wine Rack
Not the sturdiest wine rack
pb from Calgary, AB– Verified Buyer
While the other reviews commented on problems with the screws splitting the wood, the model I received didn't use screws, just finishing nails. (Even then, one of the boards split.) Despite two middle crosspieces (front and back), there is going to be an amount of "give" in the structure and, when loaded with 60 bottles of wine, the unit has left-to-right play of about six inches. That means, the thing potentially sways, though probably not enough to actually collapse. Probably. So, I use the wall brace just to keep the thing from moving side to side.

Difficult to assemble...

Was surprised to receive this and find that self assembly suggested drilling your own holes for the nails - so as not to split the wood. Helpful if you don't have a drill!

A challenge to assemble
dakota winer from rapid city, sd– Verified Buyer
The assembly instructions are really deficient. I had significant problems with splitting using the screws. I overcame this by drilling larger holes than specified. Also bottom row doesn't have enough clearance, i.e. bottles touch the floor. These problems can be overcome, but for what I paid, I expected better.

I would not by this product again

Didn't mind so much putting this together, but every screw hole had to be drilled first. If you didn't, you would split the wood. It came with to brackets to hang on the wall. For this to have the right support for 60 bottles, I had to go out and buy 6 more brackets along with a ceiling to rack chain to keep the rack from sagging and eventually falling. This is to flimsy a rack to hold as many bottles as advertized

Reasonable Quality but unclear assembly
GMJ from Plano, TX– Verified Buyer
Overall the product is very good. However, the assembly instructions are not very clear. I had to put it together twice before I got it right. Some pieces have to face a certain direction for the assembly to work properly.
Don't buy this!
Drew from Mary Esther, Florida
Bottom line, I could have paid a woodworker to build this at a fraction of the cost. The wood is light, not stained well, and flimsy. They give you nails to assemble, and don't pre-drill, so if you don't take the time to pre-drill every hole, you will split the cheap wood (not to mention you will have to buy screws if you don't want to have the rack fall apart). The directions should have been in Russian because they would have made better sense. I am returning this item, it was a complete waste of money.

Looks better in the picture, but still it is nice for the intended purpose in our wine cellar.
Understatement: "Some Assembly Required"
Dr. J from Hopedale, MA– Verified Buyer
Assembly took hours requiring two people, drills, screw drivers and hammers. Not simple or quick. Final product quite nice.
