Be Careful During Assembly
Kimiko from LOUISVILLE, KY – Verified Buyer
I bought this product in white and have been mostly pleased with the product. The size, color, and description online were all accurate representation of the final finished product. My cat continued using her box, even after it was hidden, without interruption. The staggered door does keep more of the tracked litter off the floor, but not all. However, the primary disappointment occurred during assembly. The last step is to install a safety hinge on the lid that will prevent the lid from slamming down if you happen to let go while it is open. It is intended to add resistance to counteract gravity pulling the lid down. The assembly instruction will specifically tell you "do not over-tighten the safety hinge", but gives no helpful tips of how to know when it is just right. When you do over-tighten the safety hinge, (because we obviously did) there's so much resistance pushing against the standard hinges (these hinges actually attach the lid to the rest of the box) that it will pull the screws straight out of the fiberboard! We were able to super glue the screws back into their holes. It's holding up well, for now. But we decided to leave safety hinge off to avoid pulling them out again.
A little clumsy to clean but nice hideaway

This bench turned out to be nicer looking than we expected, which was a nice surprise. The cat seems to like it and it definitely hides both the litter box and its odors quite well. Two things we don't love: 1) there's nothing to keep the top open while you're cleaning out the litterbox, so you end up sort of propping it open with your head while scooping poo (my husband says he thinks there was a piece missing in our package so maybe it's supposed to have a piece here and we just never received it?) 2) it's a bit cramped so a bigger kitty can end up peeing over the side and leaving a pretty awful mess under the box which I imagine will eventually sink into the wood. We have dealt with this by cutting up a trash bag, putting it under the box, and taping it to the 3 doorless inner sides of the litterbox. There are still puddles every cleaning but at least they're on the plastic and not the wood.

We have two cats who have always used an open litter box. We weren't really sure how our cats would respond to now using an enclosed box. Before I even had construction complete the cats were inside having a nap! I placed a heavy duty industrial mat inside both compartments to catch any litter, so far so good! They've been using it for 3 days and I haven't had to clean up any litter, which was our main purpose of purchasing this. The directions weren't the easiest to follow but it was straight forward assembly I didn't really need the instructions. There's options for left or right openings. We use the top part for their food as it's wide enough to sit comfortably. If I was keeping their water on top I would lay something down first to protect the material from any spills. It's easy to wipe down and the hinged top adds extra convenience! I would definitely recommend this product and company to anyone!!
Looks good and cats love it

I got this so that I could actually have a litter box for my boys upstairs in my bedroom. It's a great enclosure that looks and functions like a piece of furniture. It blocks a lot of that litter smell, so you can hardly tell there is a box in the room. I have two sizeable bengals who are easily able to fit into this box with no issues and they seem to like the privacy of it (keeps the other cat out and our nosy Doberman out of the way while they do their business). Buying the right sized box for inside the enclosure is key - luckily I happened to have the right one that worked well. The litter still tends to get everywhere (my boys tend to be messy, though). So, I am currently trying to find a way to keep that from happening a bit more (having a litter catcher mat on the other half maybe might help - will try it out). Pros: Easy to assemble, good looking piece of furniture, hides that ugly litter box and masks the smell Cons: The litter still gets everywhere, had to get longer nails to keep the lid on (started to fall off early on).
Something to hide your unsightly litter box

I got this when I moved into my new house, and there was no good place to hide a litter box. I am using it under a window, and white color fits in nicely with the white window trim to make it look like a window seat (though I wouldn't suggest anyone other than a cat actually sit on top of it.) It does look nice and is sturdy once you put it together. It would have been easier to put together if I had a second pair of hands though. What I didn't like was how difficult it was to get the sides of the box to screw together flush. When they say "do not over tighten" it is not an understatement. Even being very careful, I had problems and wasn't able to completely screw in every screw. Also be careful as the paint is easily marked up and I had some chipping when I was assembling it. Overall though, I am happy with the purchase. It does look like a legitimate piece of furniture. The marks and the chipping aren't too noticeable if you don't know what you are looking for. I did also put in plastic shelf liner in the bottom and caulk around the edges in case of spills (might be a nice feature if they would have provided those materials as well.) Then I put a litter mat in. I find a lot less litter scattered around the house, and I'm told there is a lot less smell than before as well.
Great solution for litter going everywhere!
Lori from Ludlow, KY – Verified Buyer
When I read the other reviews, I thought this was a grea idea, but was hesitant to try as our 2 cats are 17 years old - not sure they would easily move to the 'box.' I'm happy to report the transition has been easier than expected - we simply moved the old litter box closer to the new one over a number of days and did not immediately attach the lid, nor the inside divider. When the old box was removed, they went to the new one and eventually I attached the lid and closed it bit by bit each day. Even without the divider or a litter mat, the reduction in litter going everywhere is at least 90%. Other tips: We did not install the decorative trim to the top so that we could place the box closer the the wall and still open; we covered the holes on top with wooden white pegs. Also we removed the hinge piece so that the lid would open completely - we lean the lid against the wall behind it when cleaning out the box. Highly recommend!!
Makes all our friends with cats jealous:)

It is a nice and sturdy piece of furniture. Because of how it opens, it cannot sit flush against the wall, which meant I couldn't put it exactly where I envisioned. It looks really nice, and seems to cut down on the litter tracking. So far, neither our dogs or toddler have tried to navigate the maze to get to the litter box. It's so nice not to have to constantly yell at them to keep them away. The first couple of days, our cat showed some resistance by pooping outside the enclosure. This only lasted a couple of days and he always peed in it, so it was really a pretty painless transition as far as he was concerned. (Much better than our attempt with the city kitty... we found that our cat would much rather use our carpet than our toilet.) We have to keep it cleaned very regularly to make sure he stays happy, but really that is a bonus for everyone :). Overall very happy with this purchase and happy to have our guest bathroom back!! I would even say, so far, that this product has been worth the high price tag. Pros: stylish, sturdy, hides litter, keeps toddler and dogs out of litter, helps with litter tracking Cons: needs frequent cleaning, cannot sit flush against wall, cat may need time to adjust to enclosure
Perfect Litter Box
steven from ventura, CA – Verified Buyer
We don't have too much space in our home for a litter box to be hidden. The bathrooms are too small and we don't like the idea of having the litter box out in the open or in a bedroom because of the odor and appearance. So we came across this litter box. The fact that it looks like a piece of furniture was the reason we liked it so much. We have it in a hallway and it looks just like a bench or end table. It is much more pleasant to look at than a regular litter box. It is a great size for our single cat. He gets in there no problem and adjusted to it almost immediately. The 2 compartments inside work wonders on keeping the litter contained within. All excess litter drops off him as he passes through the front compartment before exiting. The lid has locking hydraulics and stays open on its own when you lift to clean. Fabulous product and well built. Our cat loves it and we love it even more. Great purchase.
Solved Our Problems

Really helps keep litter from being tracked outside of the box. Very sturdy, but we glued all the joints anyway. Our cat started using it right away. We also put white contact paper on the floor inside and on the top. Now the cat can jump on top where her food and water are and the inside is more water proof and easy to wipe out. I looked at a lot of covered litter box options and this is the right one !
Great litter box enclosure
Jenn from Cape Cod, MA – Verified Buyer
This is a wonderful way to hide a litter box in any room. It looks great. Wish I'd had a second person to help put it together. There are significant gaps where sides meet or where sides meet bottom. But applying contact paper inside to make interior cleaning easier (as some reviewers suggested) is an effective way to close the gaps so there is no leakage. My new kitten started using the box I put in the enclosure right away. No problems at all. I did not install the interior wall as I wanted a bigger box and more room for the kitten as he grows. Highly recommended. Wish it could serve as a bench to sit on.
