Yes, we know the "coffee table" is a modern affectation, so we've updated a late Medieval antique with today's multi-functional design needs in mind. It takes a master craftsman over a week to complete this stunning work of hand-carved mahogany. Leafy organics and traditional shell motifs play amidst classic egg and dart design in this Toscano exclusive. Two small drawers and a locking, piano hinge lid make this work of art a functional antique replica.

I would have given this 5* but for two reasons. The first is I was slightly disappointed that the color of the furniture did not match the picture - it was actually a very dark brown. Would have preferred the lighter, warmer coloring shown in the picture. The second is that the top compartment lid which opens up doesn’t have a safety mechanism which allows the lid (which is heavy) to close slowly and/or stop at any given point. It slams shut.
