Sizzlin' Smoker!

For hobby smokers or novices who don't want to invest $$$ into large equipment, this smoker does a good job on fish, sausage, meat in reasonable meal quantities. Have used indoor where smoke is fragrant but not smoky, and outside on sideburner. Cleans up okay with steel coil although you will get some staining from the wood.

Stove Top Smoker

I've been trying to rig up a small smoking device for years, and this thing works. I use it to pre-smoke food before I cook it. The food tends to get a little done. The trick is to get the smoke going and then put the food in, keeping the temperature as low as possible, while still generating smoke. I found that smoking pellets worked better than wood chips, unless you grind up the wood chips very fine. The only improvement I would make is to use a glass lid, so you can see if the smoke has stopped, without opening the lid.
