While we wstill lived in Europe we used to own one of these, it gave 5 years flawless performance and was passed on to a younger sister-in-law and is still going without a glitch. I do not know if this one will be as reliable, but after a few weeks of heavy usage, no problem. The product it delivers is just as good as our old one! -Espresso - our reason #1 for buying this machine. Just try it! Nowhere in north America can you buy a cup with crema this thick and delicious. -Capuccino - a bit so-so, you get a lot of foam but not very thick, or may be it's just my technique. -Filter coffee - very good, the 1-5 cups option and the timer are great features. -Hot water - here's a tip, do not use the espresso boiler for hot water (can still get a coffee aroma), do like many baristas - use the (clean) steam nozzle to heat your water super-quick, as you would with milk. Works like a wonder. DO give the machine a good "fuel" - buy a real espresso blend or ask for an espresso roast and a suitable grind too, to get the best results."..."  Read more

Delonghi Pump Espresso Maker My first one lasted 1.5 years. Did not hesitate to buy the second !.When buying the second unit,Iread some reviews i.e. Cup would not fit under machine,didnot work with some kind of grind,whatever. I use the cheapest expresso grind I can find,no prombel. For the money its is great.One month Of buying @ my local cafe pays for it,the other eleven months are all money savers."..."  Read more

Ive been very pleased with the espresso this machine produces and with the steamerfrother unit. Its also quite easy to use and to clean. I have, however, two relatively minor quibbles. First, the manufacturer used cheap, smelly plastic for the water tank, so to avoid having espresso with a chemical taste you need to fill the tank just before starting the brewing process. Second, the stalactite-style tamper attached to the machine is essentially useless, because you cant tamp with the appropriate pressure without simultaneously lifting up on the filter holder with one hand and holding the machine down with the other. If you buy this machine, youll probably want to invest in a 52 mm tamper, which is available online from various retailers. Despite these quibbles, Im quite happy with my purchase and would recommend this machine to others. I would have been willing, however, to pay a bit more for the machine and have it come with a decent tamper and a water tank made from odor-free material."..."  Read more

Weekdays I have my coffee at work. But my weekend I sip my lovely latte. This is a budget priced espresso machine that truly delivers. It makes a great espresso and the frothing unit takes no time to master.I am sure I will get years of use out of this machine, or until I have a spare 1000$ lying around for a barista model.
