Purchased the dehumidifier for the basement but tried it out in the kitchen after letting the machine settled for 24 hr as recommended in the instruction. The kitchen's humidity level is very high when AC is not on and not cold enough to turn on heat, hence dishes washed in the morning were not completely dry in the evening. Running the dehumidifier for 3 to 5 hours for 3 days, humidity level dropped 8% and feel the air in the kitchen is much better, all dishes were dried after 1+ hour.Brought the dehumidifier to basement, ran it overnight, water bucket was full the next morning. The machine automatically stops when water bucket is full, no need to worry about overflow. Ran the machine for about 10 hours the next day, humidity level dropped 7%, ran it again for 12 hours, humidity level dropped another 3%.After emptying 5 buckets of water, air quality in the basement is much better.Pros: No worry on water bucket overflow - machine beeps for a few times when bucket is full, and automatically stops running. After emptying the bucket and sliding it back in place, the machine resumes running.Water bucket is very easy to slide out using both hands. The dehumidifier has 4 castors, moving it to a different area on the same floor is not a problem.Cons: only 2 fan speeds, noise level for both speeds are about the same, similar to window mounted AC unit. When staying in the same room as the machine, the noise is unbearable after a while. Leaving the dehumidifier in one room with door closed, there is no problem on watching TV in the adjacent room.Fan direction is fixed, will be nice if fan direction is adjustable.Bucket handle looks flimsy, I don't use the handle at all, just slide out the water bucket half way, then hold the bucket bottom left (or bottom right) with one hand and hold the bucket top right (or top left) with another hand and remove the bucket. When water bucket is full or when the machine is stopped, need to wait for a while before sliding out the bucket, there are still water inside the machine and keep on dripping for a short while. No comment on Pump, haven't tried it yet.DD50P is the first dehumidifier I ever bought after researching different brands, so far I am happy with it, just hope it will last."..."  Read more

Got this dehumidifier as I was having mold issues at my place and did not want to end up sick. I got a hygrometer to see how much humidity I had. It turned out I had 90 humidity. As soon as I got this dehumidifier I put it to work and so far it has done very well. The air feels different and I was able to dump quiet a few buckets of water. I did not use it with the hose. As far as noise I would say it is annoying but not to the point of being unbearable. It sounds like an AC. I did not need it for a basement but in the living room.I still gave it a 5 stars as I found it to be right on with the hygrometer when it comes to accuracy. I also am very happy it consumes 420watts which is great for me. Great little dehumidifier!"..."  Read more
