Daybeds

This bed is gorgeous, classy, and unique! Just having it in the room transforms everything and the design ranks high in the "showplace" category. My full-sized bed is my primary bed. My only disappointment (thus the 4-star rating for what should really be a 5) is that the bed slats that come with it are VERY thin and flimsy. For the quality of this furniture and the cost, one would think that the manufacturers would not have skimped on such an important detail. I plan to buy sturdy plywood to hold up my mattress. In the meantime, a box spring (covered with a dark fitted sheet) sits down into the frame and onto the floor and my mattress is on top of it in a conventional setup; which defeats the purpose in having a platform bed, but it still LOOKS like it's a low-profile platform set up. All in all, I would recommend this with the caveat that owners will have to come up with solutions concerning the slats."..."  Read more

We confirm the comments that it is easy to put together, but any bed should be. Not much too them. What we are disappointed and confused by is what size Twin mattress should fit in this bed. We had a standard twin mattress delivered and there was a good 5-6" of empty space between the mattress and bed. We had to refuse the mattress, and now have a Twin XL on the way, hoping it will fit."..."  Read more

This bed was everything I expected. The frame construction, and stain was beautiful and solid. The mattress that came with the bed was a little on the flat side, but it was free, firm, and had an innerspring system. My sister visited for the holidays and slept quite well the whole week she was her. The bed was missing a needed washer for the frame which would have been a major issue had I not had one in my tool chest. They really should think about sending some extra washers and bolts for a chase such as that. However, all and all the build went smooth. I had it assembled in about 40 minutes using my own set of ratcheting Allen wrenches."..."  Read more

I moved into friend's home temporarily and purchased this daybed as my primary bed for a spare room. The bed is gorgeous! The pictures do not do the finish justice. This is a high quality piece. The frame is heavy. Very sturdy when assembled. Assembly is a two person job. It is a lengthy process, and there are many steps. However, it could have been worse. Read all instructions, and take inventory first. There were missing screws, but was easily replaced from my dad's toolbox. I have to go back and revisit how beautiful this bed is in person. The finish is muted and coppery undertones soften the heaviness of the iron. It is so elegant. It's one of those pieces of furniture that adds instant style to a room. I am leaving it as thank you gift for my friend in recognition of her generosity.
