This was bought for a glass vessel sink that had no overflow. The person wore contacts and needed a grid to catch them in case they were dropped. Worked out great and looks great installed.

This is a high quality, brushed stainless steel drain that has a grid capped by a solid conical cap. The drain does not plug, so you cannot fill the sink with water. It is heavy metal and well made. The cap makes it adaptable to wider openings. The drain is narrower than the cap.

I searched every store and website looking for a nickel finished drain without overflow. Either they were to expensive or the grid was unattractive. I especially love that it comes with a dome cover. The tiny extras made the difference.

It was a nice drain if you are not interested in plugging up the sink. I ended up purchasing one that we could use to close the drain instead.

Looks good. I use the ones without stoppers as they accumulate less smelly bacteria under the pop up. We hardly ever need to hold water in the bowl.
