Okay for the price (I bought the 24-quart and the 13-quart pots.) Recommended with serious reservations. I think quality is comparable to T-fal, which I can't find in giant sizes. I got this to replace a pot that had warped too much to use on my glass top stove. It's hard to find large non-stick pots, which I especially need to make batches of sweet chutney that sticks and burns easily. (It's even harder to find one that's of good quality.) I "seasoned" the pot before using it to make a giant batch of soup. I used nylon utensils that have been fine on my non-stick pots in the past, but this finish was scratched by it. After that, I stuck with the rubbery utensils. I soaked it and then used only a sponge to clean it because I was sure it would scratch with a nylon scrubber. After making another batch of soup that required long cooking, there was residue that looked like the finish had worn off. I was afraid to scrub it, so I used a paste of baking soda and water, and rubbed it with a cloth. That worked well. For easiest cleaning, put in some dish soap and a few inches of water. Then let it soak. (It was easiest for me to wash the 24-qt. pot outside, using the garden hose. In winter, I'm thinking I'll use the bath tub.) Re-season it with oil on a regular basis. |

wonderful We cook a lot of vegeterian chili, requiring long slow simmering, and our previous pot would always stick. requiring tedious scrubbing, but this pot just wipes clean - like magic? |
