That was not the case. I was thrilled to see that it actually fit very snug with no gaps. Great quality, great price. It was very difficult to find sheets to fit but we found a site called Sheet World and custom ordered what we needed. The company would do well to make sheets to go with the mattress. It's okay, but I would recommending spending more and getting a firmer matresses. The mattress ballons out too, like there is air in it. Not at all what I expected give the description.
