Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. The drawers come apart extremely easily, i had one come apart before i even put anything in them. I have tightened the bolt i dont know how many times now and it still just loosens, so I know it's put together properly it may just be a fault of the product. Nevertheless, the set is great in terms of quality and price. This is the third crib I've owned and by far the sturdiest and most easy to assemble, as is the changing table.
