Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. DaVinci's pine wood originates from forests maintained by managers that enforce environmental responsibility and the conservation of forest wildlife.

I was a little hesitant about purchasing online, but the reviews this crib got and the great deal I was able to get gave me the courage to give it a try. My son is now 9 months old and we just love it. It's sturdy and I love the design. The only qualm I have is that the top of the front rail is curved making for an easy fall if the mattress is in the newborn position and your baby pulls himself up...just make sure you lower the mattress before your little one gets too adventurous. There was one scratch on the bottom of one of the pieces, but very hard to see. Quality is not the best but above average. Great crib for the price! Service Review Delivery was very fast. A from canada	4.0 3/19/2011 Beautiful looking but some damage Very nice looking crib. Haven't had a chance to use it yet. There were some dents in the wood which were seen upon opening the box. The wood must be pretty soft for this to happen because the paint isn't chipped. We would have returned it if it was from a store nearby but it is too much of a hassle online.
