The Kalani 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in Cherry is a contemporary, yet classic style that is cleverly designed to change form and function with your child’s growth. Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. Beautiful Durable Crib

I did a lot of research when it came to my baby's crib. I was looking for durability, safety, convertible, and an over all good looking crib. It finally came down to Da Vinci's Kalani. I was a little ify as to ordering online. But after receiving the crib I was thrilled. No scratches like other reviews had mentioned. It was quite easy to put together, took my boyfriend and me about an hour... our baby napped longer than that. It is very sturdy. The bar is not to high that it is awkward to place the baby in, but also not so low that it seems the baby will climb out. The only downside I had read about what the fact that there were no plugs for the screw holes. Personally I think the crib looks beautiful with out them. Plus there won't be any hassle trying to pry them out when it's time to convert the crib to a toddler bed. I purchased a Serta mattress with it, fits perfect even with out a mattress cover. All in all I am in love with this crib and could not be happier. My baby slept perfectly through the first night and all the rest after. You can finally stop your searching. This crib is it!!

Beautiful, sturdy, scratch-free crib

I did a TON of research before deciding on this crib. Despite others' comments that it scratches during set-up, I felt like a DaVinci crib was overall the most reliable purchase we could make. My husband put the crib together in less than an hour by himself. It never scratched during installation, and there are no visible defects. Also, the color is a bit darker than what is shown in the photos (not as much of a vibrant red), which I found relieving because I was concerned it would be too bright to match a changing table we're getting from a family member. It is very beautiful and seems very sturdy. Overall, I'm really thrilled with this crib. I'm giving it 4 stars because we haven't actually used it yet.

Service Review

While the delivery was prompt, a signature wasn't required for delivery of this item (not sure if that was decided by the retailer or the shipper), so I was uncomfortable when I found out that a $400 crib & conversion kit purchase was left to sit out on our front lawn for several hours while my husband and I were at work.

Its a great looking crib and though many reviews talked about scratches... we have not encountered any problems with that. It may come in time, but right now, it is brand new and looks great in our nursery. Took husband about an hour or less to assemble. Great product so far!
