As noted by other reviewers, the center shelf won't hold anything other than passports or something very thin standing on edge, as the locking mechanism takes up the whole area. The middle and upper shelves are rather thin, so placing anything too heavy causes them to sag. That said, it's a good safe for the money. There was some minor shipping damage to the power coating on the front corner of the safe, likely due to the not-quite-adequate packing material. Was this helpful? Yes / No
