Fox Run Craftsmen Marble Board in Black Fox Run Craftsmen
Fox Run Craftsmen Marble Board in Black

In my years, I've seen many "upgrades" to kitchen items... Many things are made of plastic now. Plastic, even when a hard-grade plastic, are easily marred and broken, and all plastics become brittle with age. My last cutting board was made from a hard-grade plastic. I was thrilled with it at first, but using knives on it caused cut marks in the board. This left opportunistic places for bacteria. It is now hard to clean and needs to be bleached after every use. I have the same issues with wooden cutting boards that I've had in the past. This marble cutting board is amazing! Not only is it heavy duty, it is amazingly beautiful. It stays cool, so it is excellent for pastry. It is also nice for all my cutting needs. My sharp knives have not marred the surface at all. It is a bit heavy, but is very easy to clean. It has four feet on the bottom which keeps it from sliding on the counter too. Sometimes you have to be brought back to basics to fully appreciate what true quality means. You can't get any more basic than stone. That's what marble is... Stone. Made by the good Lord above, and cut and polished by man, it is now one of the most valued things in my kitchen."..." Read more

Catskill Craftsmen Round Slab End Grain Chopping Block with Feet Catskill Craftsmen, Inc.
Catskill Craftsmen Round Slab End Grain Chopping Block with Feet

5 stars

This outstanding end-grain chopping block by Catskill Craftsmen is an essential kitchen tool. Beautifully made of maple and perhaps other hardwoods, it is a pleasure to use and to look at. The board is 3 inches thick and sits on 1-inch feet that keep the board from moving during use. For me it is the perfect height for cutting. Compare this board with the Boos boards which are about double the price. As with all wooden boards, care for it with soap and water, but do not soak in the sink or put into the dishwasher. Treat with mineral oil often, at least once a month. The board will reward you with years of service. If you like to use good knives in the kitchen, why not have a cutting board that enhances their function? We've purchased four of these boards, two for ourselves and two as gifts. All are in constant use."..." Read more

I bought this marble cutting board mainly so I could make cream candy for my dad who will turn 85 this week and was reminiscing about the cream candy his mother used to make. He said it has to be a marble board because the candy will stick to any other kind of surface. I haven't made the candy yet (planning to do it today), but I have used this cutting board for other things since I got it, and just love it! It fits perfectly on my kitchen counter and looks very attractive with my kitchen decor. This marble cutting board was a great value for the price, and I have nothing negative to say about it."..." Read more

Epicurean Gourmet Series 20" Cutting Board in Natural with Slate Groove Epicurean
Epicurean Gourmet Series 20" Cutting Board in Natural with Slate Groove

5 stars

I own another Epicurean cutting board and love that it never warps, is easily cleaned, and doesn't damage my knives. I love that this cutting board has the groove to collect extra liquid. This one is a huge size and I can definitely cut a large watermelon on it. The board gives off a slight odor when being washed but it doesn't bother me much. I would highly recommend this cutting board - I don't quite like my wooden ones anymore after using Epicurean's."..." Read more
