Cutting & Utility Boards

I was in need of a new cutting board. I have a plastic one I have been using for years. I used to have a wooden one but that one became unusable after many years of use. I found this Chicago Cutlery 2 piece set. I had forgotten how nice it feels to cut on wood instead of hard plastic! This is a very nice cutting board set. The large piece measures 10" x 14" which is a nice size for everyday use. The smaller piece measures 6" x 8" very small but great for things like cheese or when you just need to cut one stalk of celery or a carrot or something of that nature. I have only used these a few times but already I love them and know they will get a lot of use in our house. They have a juice groove to catch any messes that may occur. I own another Epicurean cutting board and love that it never warps, is easily cleaned, and doesn't damage my knives. I love that this cutting board has the groove to collect extra liquid. This one is a huge size and I can definitely cut a large watermelon on it. The board gives off a slight odor when being washed but it doesn't bother me much. I would highly recommend this cutting board - I don't quite like my wooden ones anymore after using Epicurean's."..."  Read more

This is a nice cutting board. I particularly like the handles that are inset on each side of the board. They make it much easier to pick it up. I followed the instructions for oiling it when I got it and it's been nice to use and easy to cleanup. I don't handle any raw meat on this board - i just don't feel comfortable doing so. I use the board to make bread which keeps the counter tops from being used. The board helps with bread making and is ideal for kneeding. Have used it to make pretzels where flour and water are mixed on board in what they call fountain method. Very Satisfied with this Board."..."  Read more
