For years I have been searching for a carving board with metal spikes to keep the meat from moving around when carving, like my parents had when I was a kid and every Sunday dinner was a roast. I've been in dozens of gourmet kitchen stores. Boards with spikes are few and far between and the few I've found had removable spikes on a ring that sat in a recessed circle in the middle of the board. I've always suspected that might shift in the midst of carving, defeating the purpose. The J.K. Adams board looks like the real deal! We haven't put it to the test yet... but my first impressions are all positive. The spikes are solid, the board looks sturdy and I'm particularly impressed by the depth of the juice trough around the board.
