My girlfriend loves to cook. I bought this knife set for her as a Christmas present. Our old knife set was 10+ years old and falling apart, so she was really happy to receive this. The knives are sharp, the handles are shaped perfectly, and we love the variety of knives. The in-block sharpener is a great feature too. We have been using the knives for several weeks and are still very satisfied. We always hand-wash and dry the knives to keep them in good condition. I researched lots of knife sets and read countless reviews. I couldn't justify paying hundreds of dollars for an everyday knife set. This was reasonably priced [...] It also had a lot of good reviews."..."  Read more

You can only be married so many years before you need to replace your knives. We have done this piece meal until now. After looking at the mishmash of knives I had to bite the bullet and go for a new set. I researched knives and found this set. It isn't the cheapest nor is it anywhere near the most expensive. It had good and bad reviews. The biggest complaint seemed to be that it is recommended that you hand wash the knives and they may rust if you don't dry them. Since I saw that concern on practically every decent knife set, I discounted those factors. The knives are as advertised. They look good and the block isn't enormous which is crucial for counter space. They cut the way they are suppose to cut and since I am hand washing and drying after each use I see no other issues. If I see an issue I will do an update 6 months down the road. At this point, I think the set is a very good value for the money."..."  Read more

I have to admit, you get a little jaded in today's information age. My three year old OXO stainless steel knife set (back in the day highly rated by consumer reports) was not holding up well. Additionally, it had never had a proper sized Santoku (although it's smaller Santoku is still good for small diameter cutting). I did a decent amount of research and decided this knife set was the way to go. The difference is stark. The knives clearly aren't cheap, even if the knife block is bamboo laminate on wood. The knives are well balanced and cut beyond my expectations. I even tackled some old winter squash and got some very clean and low effort chopping on them even though they were tough from being stored all winter. I knew going in that the knives are not dishwasher safe, and that was expected. I expect they will last many years with proper care."..."  Read more

I recently received the 14 Piece Stainless Cutlery with Block Set in Natural wood and love it. It is the Ginsu brand and easy to handle, pretty to look at and worth the price. I haven't ever had a nice set of knives just piece meal from here and there but this really is a nice set. I was so excited to get it out and set it up. It looks nice in my kitchen. I like the way the knives (that I have used) handle as well. The weight is a good feel and the knives are very sharp."..."  Read more
